Knitting with Jazzyfaz

Job Prospects

So, I have a job prospect.  It's back in the Financial Industry.  Right now they are going to hire me for a 2 week gig. Kind of a trial period, and then we will take it from there.

I really haven't been doing any knitting.  I was every day while I was bed ridden for my ankle, but now - nothing.  I can't decide what I want to knit.  Any suggestions?

It's Been A While

Sorry it's been so long since I have posted.  Unemployment is still there.  It's been very difficult to find a job.  I had ankle surgery like I did 2 years ago.  I had that last week.  I'll be in the boot until the first week in July at least.

I have been knitting though.  Being unemployed gives you LOTS of free knitting time.  I also joined Secret Pal 14.

Life Sucks

So I am officially unemployed.  I was told on Thursday that I no longer have a job after 15 years.  I am depressed.  I will get a severence (I am lucky) and I can collect unemployment, but no job.  And the unemployment rate is so high.  Apparently in RI  Unemployment is 6 - 8 weeks behind in filing for people.

I have been knitting though.  I am in the process of knitting an afghan for the Special Olympics RI Fashion Show that is being held on March 25th at Twin River in RI.  I am the co-chair of the event and have been for 5 years.

SP Package

I received another package in the mail from my secret pal.  I don't have pictures yet, but I will.  I received more gummi bears.  Yummmmmm!!!  Also, note cards.  The best was a ton of yarn to make February Lady out of.  I can't wait to start that!  It is in my favorite color, light blue.  Thank you so much Secret Pal!

I haven't been blogging lately because I have been sick.  Since the new year I have had ear infections, colds, sinus infections, flu, etc... I have been to the Dr. every week so far.  If I hadn't been feeling so crappy I would have had lots of time to knit.

I only made one pair of socks that I gave to a friend who loves them.  Although her 5 year old daughter told her that she couldn't wear them until I made her a pair.  I guess I have to work some mojo to get her socks knit up quick!

New Year, New Me

Happy New Year to one and all!  I hope everyone has a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!  Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but with the Holidays and Year-end at work....it was a little crazy.  This year I have vowed to do certain things:

1.  Lose weight, a lot of weight, in small doses.  I actually got on a scale and cried my eyes out.
2.  Eat healthier and exercise more.
3.  Knit more, learn to knit faire isle, is the one thing I really want to do.

On a different note, I receive a couple of packages.  One was the Grand Prize from the Scavenger Hunt.  I received a big box stuffed with some great things.  I couldn't believe all the stuff I got. I get to try to dye my own yarn.  That is the coolest.  I received dark chocolate cocoa, DPNs size 3, note pads and books.  Thank you so much to the Secret Pal Hostesses!

Then I received a package from my Secret Pal.  In addition to some gummi bears (yummmmm) and coffee I received the following:

My secret pal hand dyed this 100% merino wool lace yarn and she sent me a Snowflake Lace Sock pattern.  I can't wait to start that!  Thank you so much Secret Pal!

More later my friends

Question #2

Question #2 was:  Are you doing any Holiday knitting and if so are you finished?

I have to be totally honest with you.  I do not do any Holiday knitting.  I think that it puts too much pressure on me and I just want to knit for the fun of it.  I think that people who do Holiday knitting are wonderful, but I cannot do that to myself.  So my answer would be No and No.

I cannot believe that Christmas is one week away!

Secret Pal 13 Scavenger Hunt

I just found out that I won the Secret Pal 13 Scavenger Hunt Grand Prize.  I am so excited!  I can't wait to see what is in my package.

I must tell you that my hostess Nicol, is THE best hostess!  I am sure that the other hostesses are just as good as mine, but I think Nicol is THE best!

Question #1

Question #1

What are you most thankful for?

I am most thankful for my family and friends, a home to live in and my job.  I don't think I can expand any on that.

I haven't been knitting much lately.  I have been kind of depressed.  Not sure why.  It's a funk that I cannot get out of.  Someone asked me how long it has been since I quit smoking and you know what....I couldn't answer them!  I guess that's a good thing.  I think it's about 4 months though.

I have been reading these books called Sweet Potato Queens.  OMG  these are the funniest books that I have ever read.  I mean laugh out loud while reading books.  I suggest if you are looking for a good read these are the books.  The author is Jill Conner Browne.

That's all for now.

SP 13

I am really excited about starting SP 13.  I have done 10 of these and only had one bad experience.  I think it is great and I can't wait to begin!

I have been working on a scarf from Louisa Harding's The Accessories Collection.  It is called The Frill Scarf.  I haven't finished it yet as you can see.    But I am going to finish it soon.  There are so many things that I want to start knitting, but I don't know where to begin.

I have been feeling a little depressed lately.  Not sure why.

SP12 Box

I got home from work today and surprise surprise I had received a box from my Secret Pal.  I was so excited I ripped into the box.  I took pictures and hopefully I get them downloaded onto here.  Lets see if it works.

This is a doily with a copper and red rose and a dog.  The rose is a birthday gift because my birthday is October 8th and my spoiler's birthday is October 6th.
This is 4 skeins of yarn that I received.  All are Merino wool.  I love all and I can't wait to look through my patterns to decide what to make with them.

This is hand spun cotton and bamboo yarn.  Isn't it beautiful.

This is Panda Cotton.  I love the colors.
And last but not least here is some BFL roving.  I can't wait to try to spin it up.

Thank you so much my Secret Pal.  I cannot wait to find out who you are!

I also have pics of the puppy.  He is 5 months and 3 1/2 lbs.  Isn't he the cutest?

Oh and by the way, I haven't had any cigs in over 1 month!!!!!

Not Much Going On

So  not much has been going on.  I have to be honest I have  not been knitting at all.  I found out from the doctor that I have the start of enphysema.  I have not had a cigarette in 24 hours.  I will never pick up another cigarette again.

That's my story in a nutshell.  I have been a little depressed and have not been knitting at all.

On Vacation

So last week I was on vacation.  I brought a big bag of knitting.  Socks, Clapotis, everything I needed.  You know what?  I did not knit one stitch!  Not One!  I didn't even open the knitting bag.  I don't know what came over me.  I had all this time to knit and I didn't even open the bag.  What kind of vacation at a beach house is that I ask you?  I still haven't knit anything.  I am going to work more on my socks tonight.  That is a promise I am making to myself.  I will let you know if I keep it.

Update:

 9:36 a.m. 7/31/08

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I did not knit at all last night!

Stash

This week's question posted by our SP 12 Hostesses was "What would you consider the PERFECT amount of stash?"

How can anyone really answer that question?  I don't think there is ever enough stash.  I see yarn all the time that I would love to add to my stash.

On the knitting front, my friend loved the baby blanket I knit for her son.  I was thrilled about that!  I also started another clapotis (my 2nd) with Socks that Rock yarn.  I will post pics soon.  I believe that this one I will keep for myself.  Later guys!

WOW

I cannot believe how long it's been since I've posted.  Things have been a little crazy at Chez Fazioli.  New babies, new puppies, new knitting...soccer games galore.

First things first.  New baby:  Kara Faith - now 7 weeks old.  She is a little beauty and such a good baby.  My cousin let me be in the delivery room with her and it was THE best experience of my life.  I cried like a baby!  I still can't get over it.

The day after Kara was born my new puppy was born.  His name is Niko.  He is 7 weeks as well and he is only 1 lb 7 oz.  He is a peke-a-chu and he will only get to be at tops 4 lbs.  He is a cutie.

The Special Olympics RI Fashion Show was in April and it was a HUGH success.  700 people and over $45,000 raised!  I am extremely happy!

As far as knitting is concerned, I have knitted socks, scarves, sweaters and right now am in the process of finishing up a baby blanket.

I will post pics at some point this weekend.  I am waiting to here if I got into this session of SecretPal.  Hope I do!  More later.

Clapotis

Finally

Hi all

I know it's been awhile.  I've been busy.  Things have been crazy since the Holidays.  Hope everyone had a great one!  I bought myself a laptop for Christmas and have been trying things out with it.  I finally got my digital camera working to the point that I have finally uploaded pictures to Ravelry and my myspace page.  I am slowly getting there.

I have been knitting a bunch of stuff as well.  I finally made myself the Clapotis.  I will post a picture when I get home.  I am still working on an afghan for my co-worker and a scarf that I took the pattern from a stitch dictionary.  I think the scarf will go into my stash for gift giving when I need one.  I also just bought yarn to make a baby blanket for on of the Chicks that's pregnant.

The Special Olympics RI Fashion Show is coming up as well.  I have been busy getting ready for that.

Later.
