Knitting with Jazzyfaz

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

I am making progress on sewing the baby blanket together.  Still plugging along...I just want it to be perfect!  I am also still working on the Luxe Top and Topper.  This piece just seems to be taking entirely too long!

I also got my SP5.  I am so excited to start that.  I already have my first gift just waiting to get mailed to her!!!

Here is my SP5 questionnaire.

1. Are you a yarn snob (do you prefer higher quality and/or natural fibers)? Do you avoid Red Heart and Lion Brand? Or is it all the same to you?:  I am a yarn snob.  I avoid Red Heart, although I do like some Lion Brand yarns. 

2. Do you spin? Crochet?:  I do not spin or crochet.


3. Do you have any allergies? (smoke, pets, fibers, perfume, etc.):  I am allergic to Cats and some perfumes.


4. How long have you been knitting?:  I have been knitting for almost 3 years now.


5. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?:  No wish lists.


6. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.):  I love Wood scents; lemon; cotton; baby powder;


7. Do you have a sweet tooth?:  My favorite is Charleston Chews, but I try not to eat them because of the Low cal diet I am on.


8. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do?:  Knitting only


9. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD):  I like classic rock, some top 40, my favorite is Stevie Ray Vaughn


10. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?  I love blues and purples, not liking reds or yellows too much.


11. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?I live with my mother and we have no pets.


12. What are your life dreams? (really stretching it here, I know):  I just want to be happy and healthy.


13. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with?:  I do not have a favorite, I really like most yarns.


14. What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?:  scratchy wools


15. What is/are your current knitting obsession/s?: I have babies coming into the family so I have been knitting baby blankets.  I love to knit socks as well.

17. What are you knitting right now?:  A baby blanket


18. What do you think about ponchos?:  I don't love them and I don't hate them.


19. Do you prefer straight or circular needles?:  I like straight needles


20. Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?:  Love bamboo and Rosewood


21. Are you a sock knitter?:  Yes


22. How did you learn to knit?:  I went to a class at my LYS and learned to knit in 1 class.


23. How old is your oldest UFO?:  1 year old


24. What is your favorite animated character or a favorite animal/bird?:  Love, Love, Love Donald Duck


25. What is your favorite holiday?:  My birthday


26. Is there anything that you collect?:  Nope

So, in the midst of sewing up the squares for the baby blanket, I have started a new project.  I am making a shawl from Sirdar's Dune yarn.  I am half way done already.  That is my nighttime knitting while watching TV project.  I am still working on the Luxe Top and Topper on Thursday nights at knitting class.

Not much new in knitting world.  I have begun to stitch together the squares for the baby blanket but that's pretty much it.  Too busy working and meetings.

I signed up for SP5.  Can't wait for it to begin.

I worked late last night setting up new computers for my office.  I do not like working 13 hour days!  Then I had to come in early today to make sure no one had any problems getting logged on.  Good thing is lots and lots of overtime!

My cousins and I have decided to rent a beach house this July.  We will be there for a week!  Sooooo excited about that!  Eat and drink all week!  I will probably gain back all the weight that I have lost.  My mother and I are in this weight loss study and I have lost 8.5 lbs in 10 weeks.  This is good because I will have a better shot of keeping the weight off by losing it at a slower rate.

My LYS is finally opening up again tomorrow right around the corner from my house!  YEAH!!!!!!!

I have finished making all the squares for the baby blanket!  Just have to sew together and then I may make a border around the whole blanket.  I will see when I'm done sewing!

Still working on the squares for the baby blanket.  I knit up all the Banana and Peach colored ones and now I am on the Apricot.  I am two squares into it.  Then I have the Pale Pink and Spring Green.  Then I am going to mattress stitch it together.

The new yarn store near my house is almost ready to open.  I believe she said by May 15th.  I am so happy, I cannot wait!
