Happy New Year
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I know I did.
On Christmas Eve I gave the babies their scarves. Sammy is 3 and Jordan is 2 -- they loved them. Sammy was wearing his the whole night. I have now started on a shawl for myself. It is a lace pattern with cables.
I finally got a new camera and as soon as I figure it out I will post pics.
Not much else going on here. I hope everyone has a Happy New Year and I will post again next year!
CHRISTMAS
I received a package from my Secret Pal yesterday loaded with lots of goodies! It had a few books including the Shadow Knitting book that I have been eyeing for quite a while now! Four skeins of yarn in a very pretty shade of blue -- some reindeer food and three handpainted ornaments made from leaves and okra pods! All is appreciated -- thank you so very much SP!!!!!!
I hope everyone is ready for Christmas! I know I am -- I hope everyone enjoys the holidays and I will write next week!!!!
Weekend in PA
Before I get to the weekend in PA....
I met my cousin for lunch today and gave her the afghan I made for her. She absolutely loved it! I am so glad. I so enjoy it when I knit things for people and they wear/use/love them. It makes me feel all good and warm inside. (Is that tacky or what?)
Last night I made a scarf for Sammy (my three year old cousin). Now I am going to start one for is sister.
So, now on to the weekend in PA......
I left RI around 10:30 a.m. and made it there by 3:00 p.m. -- I got there and we started drinking YingLing from the Kegerator and continued drinking through the night as we ate and sat and gabbed.
On Saturday I was awoken at 7:00 a.m. by young Andrew who remembered from the last time I was there that I promised to play games on the Playstation with him. So I HAD to do this at 7:00 a.m. for 1/2 hour. I then went to find his mother who was somewhere on the 32 acre farm. After putting on clothes (from the day before) I finally found her (before I even had coffee) and she put me right to work doing the following: collecting eggs from the hen house, cleaning the hen house, feeding horses, etc.... We had breakfast at 10:30 then went to get the Christmas Tree, take Andrew to his basketball game and Morgan to voice lessons. Then we went back to the farm and did more stuff around it with the animals.
I managed to sneak away for 1/2 hour to go to a yarn store I found down the road from her farm. It's called Knitting to Know Ewe. It is a small, but very nice store. The yarn is arranged by color. I found a few skeins of different yarns to purchase then back to the farm.
Once back at the farm we had to put all the horses in their stalls and feed and water them all. I cannot even tell you how many times I walked around the 32 acre farm. I also drove a 4 wheeler around. We then went in around 6:30 and ate and drank.
The next morning I was awoken at 8:00 by my friend Maria who wanted me to work the farm with her before I left to drive back to RI. I told her that she was crazy!
I was so exhausted driving home. For the next two days my whole body killed me!
I don't think I will be going back for awhile!
Have a great weekend every one!
Sorry
I am still knitting though. I finished the afghan for my cousin. I just have to give it to her. I am also knitting scarves for the kids in our family. I am still plugging along on the sweater as well although not as much right now because it takes too too much to concentrate and I just don't have it at the moment.
That's all for now. I will write again tomorrow and tell you all about my weekend in PA.
